Erzincan City Guide
Standing as one of the oldest culture centers of Anatolia, Erzincan is located at the upper part of the Euphrates River in the Southeast Anatolian Region. Harboring a great deal of civilizations throughout the history, Erzincan is placed on the historical Silk Road.

Altintepe placed 15 km away from the city center near the Erzincan-Erzurum way is one of the substantial artifacts from the Urartians. The art of weaving carpets in the city was pretty prevalent at the past. Although you will be able to see the examples of this kind of handicraft at Kemaliye and Uzumlu districts it is not so prevalent today. However, carpet work is aimed to be passed to the next generations.
Akbulut Ski Center with its accommodation facilities and 5 skiing rinks is a modern ski establishment. The asphalt ways to the city center facilitate easy access to this location.
The excellent geographic and climatic conditions facilitate trekking, mountaineering and camping to be prevalent in Erzincan. Yaylabasi Ardicli Lake, the route along Bayirbag, Yedigoller and Aygir Lake are proper for trekking and stone climbing. Esence, Yedigoller, Refahiye and Dumanli forests are eligible for camping.
Also, the existence of many spring resorts, dam lakes and rivers provide necessary conditions for rafting, water skiing and relaxation.

Sirin, gesafe, esgili, kesme soup, sarma, water pastry, kete and kinds of sweets are among the significant palates from the culinary culture of the city.
Erzincan is famous for its tava leblebi (roasted chickpeas) and tulum cheese.
